Terms of Service

Last updated July 15, 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of CanvasProof at canvasproof.com and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account, connecting Canvas, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Who may use CanvasProof

The Service is designed for students who use Canvas LMS. You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure.

Not affiliated with Canvas

CanvasProof is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instructure, Canvas LMS, or any school or university. Your use of Canvas through CanvasProof must also comply with your institution's policies and Canvas's own terms.

You connect Canvas by providing your own Canvas instance URL and personal access token. You are responsible for creating and revoking that token in accordance with your school's rules.

The Service

CanvasProof helps you view assignments, deadlines, grades, course materials, and related student tools in one place. Features may include calendar views, grade summaries, email reminders, optional Google Docs integration, AI-assisted assignment prep, and optional progress sharing.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We try to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Free and paid plans

CanvasProof offers a free tier and optional paid plans. Current pricing is shown on our Pricing page and may change for new purchases; existing paid access continues for the period you paid for.

Finals Pass

A one-time purchase that unlocks full access for 14 days. It does not renew automatically.

Semester Plus

Includes a 7-day Guest Pass trial with full access. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you are charged once for the semester term. Semester Plus is billed through Stripe as a subscription that is set not to auto-renew at the end of the term — you are not charged again unless you purchase again.

Payments

Paid plans are processed by Stripe. By purchasing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for the selected plan. Taxes may apply where required by law. Promotional codes, when offered, are subject to their stated conditions.

Refunds

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable once access has been granted. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days at Canvas@canvasproof.com and we will review your request.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Access Canvas or other accounts without authorization, or share tokens that belong to someone else
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or compromise the security of the Service
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, or resell the Service except as expressly allowed
  • Interfere with other users or overload our systems
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with a school

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or pose a risk to the Service or other users.

Grades, AI, and academic decisions

CanvasProof displays information from Canvas and may offer calculators, reminders, or AI-generated study suggestions. This is for planning and organization only. We do not guarantee grade outcomes, accuracy of third-party data, or that suggestions meet your instructor's requirements.

You are solely responsible for completing your coursework and following your school's academic integrity policies. Do not submit AI-generated content as your own work unless your instructor allows it.

Your content and our license

You retain ownership of content you provide (such as notes or prep inputs). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service — including sending portions to AI providers when you request prep features, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Our intellectual property

CanvasProof, including its name, logo, software, and design, is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or brand except as needed to use the Service in the ordinary way.

Third-party services

The Service integrates with third parties such as Canvas, Google, Stripe, and OpenAI. Your use of those services is subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or data practices.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, canvasproof and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, grades, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (b) fifty u.s. dollars ($50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CanvasProof and its operators from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights or school policies.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive termination.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer protections apply.
